Where to Party in Bangkok If You Hate EDM
You like electronic music. That's exactly why you can't do another night of EDM drops, sparkler parades and a DJ shouting "make some noise."
Bangkok keeps pointing you at those places. Every "top nightlife" list is the same five mega-clubs, and every taxi driver knows the same two streets. Meanwhile the city runs an entire second lane - deep house, afro house, melodic house, crowds that actually dance - and nobody hands you the map.
We're Deep House Thailand. This crew exists because we were the people leaving those clubs early, wondering where everyone like us was hiding. Turns out: on rooftops, on pool decks, in a penthouse on Sukhumvit 17, and in one very loud room in Silom. Here's the map we wish someone had handed us two years ago.
Lane 1 — the Club Nights
Thursday is the anchor: Afrokana at APT 101, afro house with live djembe, 400 baht with a drink, every single week. Weekends, follow the bookings at Mustache (Silom, the city's flagship underground room), BEAM (Thonglor), Sing Sing Theater and Elsewhere (midnight to dawn).
The rule that saves your night: in Bangkok, follow nights and crews, not venues. The full night-by-night breakdown: deep house club nights in Bangkok.
Lane 2 — the Pool Parties That Play Real House
Most Bangkok pool parties are EDM with water. Two are not: the Westin Pool Party (third Saturday monthly - melodic techno, afro house) and ours - the Deep House Thailand × Bangkok Rooftops series at the Centara Grand rooftop pool: July 18, August 29, September 19, with BYAS, Cameron Glasgow, Dennis Gold and Wiwa. Deep house from 3 PM through sunset, in the water, above the city. Tickets here, full scene context in the pool party guide.
Lane 3 — Rooftops & Daylight
The formats that made this scene: rooftop house parties (programmed sets above the skyline - not rooftop bars with background music), and the daytime experiments Bangkok now knows us for - coffee raves in a Porsche gallery, ice bath parties, the whole conscious clubbing idea: partying that leaves you better than it found you, not wrecked.
If your best nights end at sunset instead of starting at midnight, this lane is yours.
How to Plug In
Three steps. One: the this-month calendar - every house date in Bangkok, updated Mondays. Two: follow @deephousethailand - announcements land there first. Three: press play on the Deep House Thailand playlists so the sound is already in your bones when you walk in.
And if you're the "I'll just show up" type: it's Thursday somewhere. APT 101, 400 baht, follow the drums.
Quick Answers
Is Bangkok nightlife really all EDM?
The famous strip is. The second lane isn't - it's just quieter online. That's literally why this site exists.
Where do locals party?
The music-first crowd moves between Thonglor/Ekkamai rooms, Silom's Mustache, the Thursday night, and event crews like ours. Nights and crews, not venues.
Where can I actually dance?
Rooms built around a floor, not tables: Mustache, BEAM, Elsewhere late, Afrokana, and any DHT date - dancing is the whole point of the format.
