The first founder of the electronic music scene in Burma — now building a second home in Bangkok.
Berry, born Zar Ni Kyaw in Burma, is a DJ, graphic designer and social media marketer who started the electronic music movement in her home country back in 2018. Since then, she has dedicated her life to the craft — backpacking and performing across Southeast Asia and beyond.
She sharpened her skills in Goa (advanced disc jockeying class) and has played sets across Singapore, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Thailand. After the military coup in Myanmar, she chose Thailand as her second hometown — and has since become a staple of the Bangkok scene, now holding down residencies across the city.
"Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here, we should dance."
The Sound
Berry's style is cross-genre: funky jazz and dancing groovy disco, Afro House, indie dance, minimal tech house, progressive techno, acid underground and techno. An energetic, passionate performer known for reading the crowd, picking the right record, and moving people into the groove.
