Thailand-based DJ and producer BYAS has released an Afro House version of Tame Impala’s “The Less I Know the Better”.
The remix keeps Kevin Parker’s vocal and the song’s familiar melodic tension, then rebuilds the rhythm at about 123 BPM. Rolling drums and a warmer low end move it closer to the melodic end of Afro House without losing the original song.
It is an easy crossover for playlists that connect Tame Impala and RÜFÜS DU SOL with Black Coffee, Keinemusik or Francis Mercier. For DJs in Thailand, the tempo also places it within the slower house range heard across clubs, rooftop sessions, pool parties, beach events and festivals.
BYAS has released two arrangements. The 3:07 radio edit is available on SoundCloud and YouTube. The 4:29 extended mix opens with roughly 30 seconds of drums and is available as a free 24-bit WAV.
